About
Douglas Robson is a freelance journalist based in San Francisco, Calif. He is the
lead tennis writer for USA Today and has covered sports ranging from
hockey to soccer to the Iditarod. He also writes about business and sports business.
Robson's journalism career includes stops at the Fairfield Daily Republic
in Fairfield, Calif., the San Francisco Business Times, and Business Week
before turning to full-time freelancing. His work has appeared in The New York Times, USA Today,
Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, the San Jose Mercury News, Reuters
and Tennis Magazine, among other regional and national media outlets.
His reporting has earned awards from the AP News Executive Council, the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the Peninsula Press Club.
Robson graduated from high school in Chicago and holds a B.A. in History from Yale
University and a M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University.
